Surfrider Foundation - Sebastian Inlet Chapter

Don't KillOur Reef!

Florida's beach management policies are a disaster, and the plan to dump sand on a living worm rock reef in Satellite Beach is no exception. Dredge and fill industries run the show through powerful lobbying groups, in the guise of "maintaining" our beaches. Surfers spend more time on the beach than anyone else, and know the truth all too well. This wasteful government spending kills our breaks and beach ecosystems. Better long-term solutions are needed; protecting buildings cannot remain the top priority. Surfrider is working hard with the community to prevent the destruction of the prized natural habitat, and establish long term plans that will actually work.
