A Greener Surfboard

Although this article details an Oregon company, we have local shapers like Tom Neilson that are doing something similar using bamboo and cork. You could make the board even more eco-friendly by using a recycled EPS blank.

  • This is Space Coast Reef!

The Reef In Satellite Beach, FL

This incredibly unique stretch of nearshore reef along the Brevard county coast is threatened.

The Reef In Satellite Beach, FL Although the US EPA calls it "the premier community in the area", and the National Marine Fisheries Service has designated it an Essential Fish Habitat (and upgraded that to Habitat Area of Particular Concern), a planned dredge project would BURY at least three acres of this reef.

This reef area is also home to some of the East Coast's best known surf breaks, such as RC's. World champion CJ Hobgood grew up and learned to surf here.

  • Our 2012 Kick-Off Beach Party A Huge Success

We were blessed with beautiful weather, great BBQ, four rockin' bands, and an incredible turnout. The new T-shirts had just come in from the printers, so everyone had an opportunity to be well-dressed. Kona Brewing Company sponsored us with a massive supply of beer. There were thousands of dollars worth of raffle items that went to lucky winners. We had so much fun we're already looking at doing more events; it definitely won't be a year before we do another party. Look for something else coming up sooner rather than later!
